WC55
The WC55 model offers greater BTU output, has a larger firebox, and is equipped with a greater water and coal capacity than the WC40 model.
Multi-Fuel units can burn a variety of fuels with high efficiency. Our trademark perforated grate system makes it possible to burn various types of solid fuels in the same combustion chamber, and to customize the airflow and burn efficiency with each kind of fuel.

Traditionally, Multi-Fuel boilers have been sold as wood/coal combinations, with …
However, due to EPA Phase 2 regulations, these units are no longer sold for use with wood.
Models with liquid fuel backup capability include a separate combustion chamber where fuel oil, natural gas, or propane can be burned.
The Multi-Fuel Boilers are available in four standard sizes with varying BTU output. All units are traditional, hand-fired, updraft boilers. For automatic feeding boilers please explore our Wood Gun or Coal Gun product lines.

Oil/Propane/Natural Gas Backup
The Multi-Fuel boiler can be fitted with a backup fuel option. This option requires a dedicated firing chamber for the boiler that must be built in to the vessel during manufacturing. This chamber is water jacketed for its entire length for excellent heat exchange and efficiency.
Automatic/Manual Switching
For #2 fuel oil, the backup system can function in an automatic switch-over scenario, with fuel oil taking over when the boiler has exhausted its coal fuel. For other fuels, such as natural gas or propane, switch-over is manual only.
Insulation Jacket
Our base unit Multi-Fuel boilers have no insulation on the outside of the boiler, allowing maximum heat radiation in the boiler room. If you prefer to circulate more of this heat, an insulation jacket can be added to the boiler. This insulation jacket is comparable to that used on the Wood Gun or Coal Gun boilers
ASME Certification
The ASME Certification guarantees the steel grade and weld quality of the boiler water jacket. Each ASME Certified water jacket has been pressure tested to 60 PSI, and includes a 30 PSI release valve.
